My company does not offer any sort of paid maternity leave, so I was planning on buying short term disability insurance to cover part of my 12 week maternity leave. Are there short term disability plans that will cover my salary 100%. Does anyone have one they have used and that they can recommend? Thanks!

I am in the process of opening a maternity clothing/ gift shop. Are women tired of shopping in soft pastel color stores aimed at the baby theme? Or would you prefer going into a hip black and white, or colorful store with good top 20 music playing?
What do you think would do better?

I asked my HR department at work and they were unable to tell me how much disability I will be receiving during my maternity leave and I'm curious just for budgeting purposes.

I live in California and I think I'm eligible for 4 weeks before my due date and 6 weeks after birth. I also know that I can take more time off without pay, which I'm planning on.

I’m 23 weeks pregnant. My employer isn’t required to give me maternity leave (FMLA only protects employees who have been at the same company for a year). But I think that my employer would allow me to take unpaid leave or re-apply when I’m ready to go back.

How many weeks should I ask for? My doctor says that I’m going to have a vaginal birth, unless something changes. How many weeks would I need to recover after a C-section?

i don't really remember when i started wearing maternity jeans with my first pregnancy and i never bought maternity shirts... just loose stuff from the juniors section (i was only 21). now i am pregnant with my second and i turned 19 weeks today. today is also the first day that i have worn maternity jeans. i have been wearing regular jeans, but they are just getting too uncomfortable. i was only a size 3 when i got pregnant, but i just don't feel like i should already be in maternity clothes!!
