When did you start wearing maternity pants?

When did your regular pants started feeling too snug and you started wearing maternity pants?

Two women I know who are pregnant said at two months! That seems so early! Is that right?

It does seem early but it is true!
I meanh it’s not necessarily true for everyone but I think generally speaking somewhere around that time frame pants start feeling uncomfortably tight.
This may depend in part on how tight your pants are to begin and how you wear them (up high or down low) and if you’ve had other kids (your tummy grows faster with subsequent -aka not your first pregnancy – pregnancies).
I am about 3 months pregnant and been reading the week to week updates and most of the things I read starting a couple weeks ago said you might want to start wearing maternity pants or sweat pants.
You aren’t showing but your uterus is growing and your pants being tight is uncomfortable.

This is what a pregnancy pamphlet from my doc says about it:
    "Month three (week 10-13)
Your clothes may begin to feel tight around your waist and breasts. Try bull over tops and skirts or pants with elastic waists".

Anyways I have just recently started not wanting to wear jeans and wearing sweat pants and pajama pants (I’m a stay at home mama and my hubby was in Texas the last two months so I haven’t needed/wanted to look professional or dressy most days!) .. prolly add in my maternity pants soon enough though!

Plus if your pants are super tight you feel like you are squishing your baby even though you know you aren’t!

I’m 24 weeks 6 days [5 1/2 months] and still wearing pre-pregnancy pants. I’ve gained all my weight in my belly so my low rise jeans still perfectly fine around my waist.

I’m at 4 months right now.
My really tight pants don’t fit, and I just let my looser one rest under my belly, but I’ll probably be getting some no later than next month.
None of my tops go down to the top of my pants now, though..and it’s been that way for a month.

8 weeks. I was pretty bloated and my jeans were just not comfy! I tried those belly bands, and they helped, but getting some maternity pants was just WAY more comfy… So yea about 2 months. But I didnt NEED them until about 20 weeks.

I am 10w3d, and I bought my first pair of maternity jeans this weekend. I though it was too early too, until I tried them on!

It’s never too early to be comfortable! I am wearing them almost everyday! I got the Secret fit Belly ones at Motherhood. Also, for cheap maternity tops, I got some loose flowy tops and tunic tops at H&M.

I am 15 weeks and have been wearing maternity pants for 2 weeks! Only one pair of previous pants fit! I couldn’t keep wearing the same pants every day and I went to the regular store and tried on sizes way bigger than what I used to wear and NONE of them would fit.. so I said screw it and I bought maternity pants.. and man it feels so comfy. I agree!! It’s never to early to be comforable.. also.. I am holding my baby low.. so maybe that is why my pants stopped fitting really early.. :) excuses..

At 17 weeks. Everyone is different. Some people might start at 2 months, some later, you never know.

    Yep it can be.

Every woman, every PREGNANCY is different. My first two kids I didn’t need maternity pants until the very end. I almost didn’t buy them because maternity clothes were so expensive and I didn’t want to spend the money on something I was just going to wear for a month or two.

My third pregnancy though, the one I’m going through right now, I was in maternity pants not even 2 months in (week 7). I gained so much weight right from the get go, I gained like 30 lbs in the first 3 months. With my other two pregnancies I didn’t even gain 30 pounds through the whole pregnancy.

So yes, some people can definitely need maternity pants at two months! I sure did.

I bought a Bella Band. You just leave your jeans unbuttoned and put it over them. That was the only thing I bought. It was about 18 bucks. I needed it at 26 weeks, lol.
