When will I start wearing maternity shirts?
I am 5'3, 19 weeks pregnant with my first child. I weighed 150 pounds before getting pregnant, I have gained 6 pounds so far.
If I am naked, me and husband can see the tiny bulge, but in clothes, I just look fat to people, I think!
Its so frustrating because my regular clothes don't fit me anymore, and maternity shirts look too big and uneccesary.
When do you think I will start having a popped out belly, big enough to wear maternity shirts?
Thanks!
Everyone grows different. Frustrating I know! It should be soon!
its diff for everyone…some ppl don ‘t even show till their 3rd trimester…

It’s hard to tell. I literally went from not having to wear maternity shirts to having to in 1 week. One thing I do suggest is invest in a few empire waist maternity tops. Most of those don’t have unnecessary fabric but do have a little extra. I wore those when I felt fat but not pregnant and I really think it helped me have a more pregnant look when I just felt gross in tighter shirts.
If your regular clothes aren“t fitting right, and you have nothing that works, wear the maternity clothes. Everyone will get the picture quickly enough.
I wore oversized shirts and just undid my pants for a while, then went into maternity pants, and full dresses. I had enough dresses that were full enough for those early months.
I went to a plus-size store and got a bunch of shirts to wear in the "in-between" stage. I have found them to be long enough to cover the belly band on my maternity pants, but they don’t look so maternity. Also I have room to grow in them.
Your belly will definately start to pop soon – within the next month. You can wear your maternity shirts now even if they are a little big. At least then it will elminate the "is she or isn’t she?" problem.
I could finally start wearing maternity shirts when I was about 23-25 weeks, and my prepregnancy weight was 125 if that matters. I know how it feels to not fit into anything :/
I always thought that the maternity shirts looked too big on me around 19-20 weeks also, but my belly popped out a couple weeks later. I would wear the maternity shirts if your other clothes are too small. They are way more comfy than trying to squeeze into your regular clothes. I tried to squeeze into some capri pants around 22 weeks and I split them right down the butt in the middle of work. Bottom line, better to feel that the clothes are too big than to have to walk around with your bum exposed.
i started wearing maternity shirts so that i didnt just look fast in the begining i think its up to you!! i was at 19 weeks hope this help you out a bit!!
about 7 months
I understand ur pain. My cuz and I just started buyin babydoll type shirts they were a lil more comfortable to us.
She’s 16 weeks and I’m 11 weeks
Well, some people NEVER wear maternity shirts….and Im in that group. Im almost 7 months along now…and normally very petite pre-pregnancy, so I find myself just getting those cute shirts that are a little longer, and they do very well for me. That awkward chubby looking stage is normal, and can last a while. Try buying shirts that are only a size bigger or something. Good luck on your pregnancy!
The best thing in the world is babydoll tops!!! This way, you don’t just look fat like if you just buy bigger clothes, or just wear your same clothes. Go to your favorite clothing stores and hit them up for all their cute babydoll tops! You can wear most of them for all of your pregnancy and look damn cute doing it! Also, you will feel pregnant and cute at the same time and people are more likely to look at you and assume your pregnant and not just putting on a few pounds. when your belly get super big then if you just particularly want to wear the "maternity" style clothes you can get some then but it will probably be about 27 weeks before you will look undeniably pregnant in some of those style of tops.
I say go get you some babydolls and flaunt that little tummy NOW!
well try buying a bigger shirt until you can fit into maternity shirts but none of us can be sure when you can wear maternity shirts as we are all different !!!!!!!!
